Dealer also notices that the car battery is in a low state of charge So according to the dealer the Restraint system aka the Airbag system turns its self off if the battery is in a low state of charge??? Anyway the dealer resets the fault codes and gives the batter a quick charge and the warning lights have gone.. I’m wondering if there is some literature out there that actually says this is how car should behave, really the concept of needing a good battery voltage before the protection top the occupiers of the car from the airbag system seems a bit strange.. Yes, the IBS was at the heart of some problems I posted on this site before Back when I did have a faulty battery the IBS did its job by sending me warning messages “Low bat voltage” etc, and it shut down the air con, the heated seats, the rear demister, heated mirrors etc.. I had no warning messages from the IBS no other symptoms, and had travelled a full 300 mile trip the day before the airbag laps came on.. And as far as having the battery in a proper state of charge, the car had been in use most days and had covered 300 mile just the day before the airbag warning message, plenty of time to charge the batter properly??? Anyway the long and the short of it is that after resetting the codes and charging the battery the fault has gone.. Can anybody confirm that it is likely that I have broken this sensor, and if replacement of this sensor is suitable for DIY or for main dealer only?Can anyone verify or otherwise let me know if a low battery can disable the Restraint system & Airbags? Took my car to the dealer, as usual the dealer reads the fault codes and discovers that there is indeed a problem with the Restraint system & Airbags.. It just seems a tad unbelievable that the dealer says its programmed to disable the Restraint system and airbag system if you have a low battery.. The car has been used for a week now and the faults have not retuned??? I challenge the dealer over the low battery and pointed out that this was a new battery fitted by the same dealer only 4 months ago.. I also mention that there had been no consol warning messages indicating a low battery state or charge condition reported to the consol as before when they said a new battery was required.. Stalled + ’fault in passenger-restraint system’ My daily driver failed me today Passenger Restraint System Fault?Still none the wiser.. After kneeling with most of my weight on one knee on the Drivers front seat while leaning over to retrieve some rubbish from the passenger side foot well, I think I may have broken the drivers seat occupancy sensor.. I now get “Restraint System Failure” message and both the Airbag failure and Occupancy failure lamps are lit on the consol display.. But this time round nothing, I go no warnings at all, and its a new battery to boot. ae05505a44
